About This Site (and Why It Exists)
ChelanValley.com exists because some people unwind by watching sitcoms at night, and some people unwind by poking at servers, breaking things, fixing them, and learning something new along the way.
This site is primarily for my own entertainment, curiosity, and continuing education. It’s a money‑sucking sandbox where ideas get tested, rewritten, optimized, abandoned, and occasionally brought back from the dead. What you see on the screen is only the tip of the iceberg — there’s usually a lot more happening behind the scenes than in front of the page.
I enjoy experimenting with the whole stack: different languages, operating systems, applications, platforms, and the glue that awkwardly holds them together. Sometimes the result is polished. Sometimes it’s “interesting.” Either way, it’s part of the fun.
ChelanValley.com isn’t trying to be everything to everyone, sell you something, or win design awards (though I wouldn’t complain). It’s a personal project built out of curiosity, experimentation, and a genuine appreciation for both technology and the Lake Chelan Valley.
If you’re here because something caught your eye, didn’t work, worked surprisingly well, or made you wonder “why did he do it that way?” — congratulations. That means it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.
